A word from the Head of Secondary

Dear Parents and Guardians,

Greetings in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. I trust that you and your family are safe and healthy. These are difficult days but we hope that Our Lord God in whom we believe, will remain our protector.

We highly appreciate your patience and consideration during this time when we have been working to put our online platform in place. We are looking forward to enjoying a time when we shall all be working together: students, parents, teachers and administrators.

This is what Our Lord God tells us in Isaiah 41:10. ‘’So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.’’(NIV)

So let us surrender everything to our Lord God. Our children, most of whom are passionate about their education, will definitely need encouragement so that they do not despair. Be encouraged that Our Lord God is in control.

We are committed to ensuring continuity in curriculum delivery and our goal is to make sure that our learners still cover the areas of study as they would have done if they were in a physical school. However, much as we are excited and eager to launch the online school for our learners, we also have to empathetically reflect on the limitations that various families are facing and experiencing right now.

Creativity, tenacity and a positive attitude will spur all of us on during these COVID-19 shrouded days. Ambitious as The North Green School is, we are not going to sit back. Tough times call for tough decisions. Come Monday, 27th April, 2020 at 7:30 a.m., we shall begin our much awaited online school. I know our pupils will be jubilant about this.

There will be a detailed timetable available for reference. Kindly adhere to the guidelines. With teenagers, consistency is crucial. We appreciate all your cooperation on this road that we shall be beginning soon. We pledge to work with you earnestly. Feel free to interact with various teachers to ask questions and seek clarification.

All in all, one of our main focus points for the teachers and students during the 2019-2020 school year has been advancing our “self-worth.” Self-worth together with creativity enhance acquisition of new knowledge and maturity, particularly during hardship.

We shall not be like the caged bird but we shall soar with eagles! Because of our self-worth awareness and the situations that surround us, I trust that we shall all be tenacious during this time.

Let us all be ready to forge forward with a mindset to emerge as winners. Let us all work together to usher our children into a new world of new learning.

Stay safe, stay strong and keep on moving.
